Unmanned aircraft systems for enhanced biosecurity through aerial surveillance

Abstract

This paper describes the advancement of unmanned aircraft systems in agriculture, and their potential to aid in poultry biosecurity. Opportunities for use of this emerging technology to assess and ameliorate risks associated with confined livestock production are described. Finally, and outline for a new document describing best management practices for use of unmanned aircraft in agriculture, with an emphasis on poultry biosecurity, is presented.
