Abstract

This report is the first in an occasional series of Grand Rounds from major cancer enters. We intend it to be flexible in form in recognition of the differing formats used in different centers. Each contribution will reflect an actual presentation made at the cancer center by the senior author; it will also represent the vision of the center and the judgement by that center of the importance of the subject. The contributions may, as in this case, be a review of a subject or disease, or they can be traditional case presentations followed by discussions. We believe that the choice and quality of the presentations will make this series especially interesting to our readers.
