Abstract

The synthesis of star-like polyhydroxypropyl methacrylamide (HPMA) copolymers using StarburstTM (PAMAM) dendrimers as the core is described. The star-like polymers were characterized by size exclusion chromatography, matrix assisted desorption/ionization-mass spectrometry, 1H nuclear magnetic resonance and ultraviolet spectroscopy. Doxorubicin was introduced into the star polymer to verify their potential for a new anticancer drug delivery system.
