Abstract

Echitamine chloride (EC), an indole, alkaloid reported to have a highly promosing anticancer activity, was given to mice bearing S-180 solid tumor at a dosage of 5 mg/kg. The elevated levels of serum glycoproteins and glucosidases, as observed in S-180 tumor bearing mice, have been brought back to near normal after treatment with EC, indicating its anticancer effects.
