Stability analysis of chemical reaction and free convection in porous media

Abstract

Stability analysis of an isothermal first order and nonisothermal zero order reaction in the presence of free convection is performed. Critical values of the Rayleigh number for both cases are analytically calculated. The calculated values compare favorably with the numerical simulation of the full governing equations.
