Relativistic nonlinear optics of ultra-intense light

Abstract

A study on the relativistic nonlinear optics of ultra-intense light was performed. The scaling of the harmonics with the laser power and density was also studied and the emission was found to be coherent. The unique angular distributions of the second and third harmonics emitted were observed experimentally. The shape of the laser pulse was modified due to the local variation in the phase velocity.
