Pulaski, Iowa is located in southeastern Iowa in Davis County. Founded in 1856, Pulaski, like many small Midwestern towns, peaked in population in the early 1900s. Pulaski's population has continued to decline in recent decades which has significantly impacted the built environment. Once supported by a thriving agricultural community the housing stock and central business district are now deteriorating beyond recognition. This case study uses postcards, photographs, and fire insurance maps to document Pulaski's changes over the last 100 years.
