The object of this study is to investigate the effect of crystallization on the mechanical response of a polymer containing a rigid cylindrical inclusion. The polymer is considered to be under different loading conditions are restricted to plane strain motions. The study shows how the process of crystallization can induce the development of residual stress, and how crystallization can redistribute the inhomogeneous stress field originally induced before crystallization by external loading.
