Phase transition in the random anisotropy system: a-DyFeB

Abstract

AC susceptibility data taken in various dc applied fields are reported for a-Dy60Fe30B10. Strong random magnetic anisotropy produces a sharp speromagnetic transition to a spin-glass-like state at Tf = 91.5 K. The data are analyzed in terms of an Ising-type spin-glass transition, and comparisons are made to related random systems.
