Abstract

Industry uses micro EDM to produce parts like super-fine nozzles and to make high-precision masks used in microelectronic manufacturing processes. An overview is given on a work being done at the Center for Nontraditional Manufacturing Research. This work is aimed at expanding the primary uses for micro EDM technology from fine-hole machining to micro-mold making and the production of micro 3-D parts for micro machines.
