Abstract

Three dental composite resins were tested in tension and compression in order to define the stress-strain behavior for both types of applied stress. Linear and nonlinear behavior was observed, and the response was specific for each material and also to the type of applied stress. It may be necessary to take this into account when constructing numerical solutions to stress/fracture problems.
