Abstract

The effective diffusion coefficients for trichloroethylene in undisturbed, heterogeneous soil cores taken from Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, were quantified. Fourteen of the twenty-two measured effective diffusion coefficients had higher values than what would be predicted by the equation developed by Millington (1959). The effective diffusion coefficients for Core-21-27B and Core 92-98B plotted against Millington's equation were presented.
