High-spin organic polyradicals

Abstract

Background related to molecular design of high-spin organic molecules is discussed and recent developments in the synthesis and studies of high-spin organic polyradicals are briefly overviewed. The prospects of achieving very large values of spin in organic molecules and synthesis of three-dimensional (or two-dimensional) organic networks are addressed; these goals are relevant to magnetism on mesoscopic (nanometer) scale and bulk organic ferrimagnets (or ferrimagnets) with high Tc.
