Glaucoma

Abstract

The term glaucoma is applied to several different diseases of the eye. Usually it is caused by elevated pressure within the eye that is high enough to cause vision loss and damage to the optic nerve. Treatments include a variety of drugs or surgical procedures to reduce intraocular pressure.
