Abstract

Exchange interactions for nanocrystalline materials consisting of hard magnetic particles embedded in an insulating matrix were investigated. The net exchange energy was obtained by introducing cylindrical coordinates and integrating over the surfaces of the adjacent spheres. The exchange coupling for the nanocrystalline materials was shown to decrease exponentially with the decay length.
