Equivalence of sweep-rate and magnetic-viscosity dynamics

Abstract

A master-equation was used to study the irreversible response of magnetic materials to magnetic fields of arbitrary time dependence. The applicability of the theory to linear energy-barrier laws and to the case where activation energy was a nonlinear function of the applied field was described. The relationship between sweep-rate and magnetic-viscosity dynamics was also discussed.
