Abstract

The World Wide Web allows information resources of heterogeneous forms to be tied together to form an immensely huge data archive. However, it is often hard to find what the users need because of the distributive nature of the databases on the Web. This paper focuses on the development of a prototype agent for database mining over the World Wide Web. Attempt is made to tie the concepts of data mining into a learning agent that can apply its accumulated knowledge to various Internet mining tasks according to specific user preferences.
