Abstract

Patients with chronic kidney failure have an increased risk of bacteremia and endocarditis. Gram-negative rods are not a common cause of endocarditis, but morbidity and mortality are significant. Citrobacter, a gram-negative rod, is a rare cause of infective endocarditis. We report a case of Citrobacter koseri endocarditis in a patient undergoing hemodialysis.
